Gaustian Edge (NPC) "Are you serious?" Sitting within the office of the grand palace, desk littered with documents of all kinds, was the pride and joy of Spera: their dutiful monarch, Gaustian Edge. His name was known throughout the lands, only those with absolutely no ability to hear not knowing who he was. It was safe to say that the Emperor of Spera was the most famous person in the world. He was the leader of the planet's greatest nation, after all. But today was a day that he'd dreaded for a long time. The day when a document would sit upon his desk, requesting something of him he'd never thought possible. "A bill of defamation and racism..." he muttered to himself. He honestly couldn't wrap his mind around what person would send this to him. Or, how in the hell it got past the Body of Law. Was it Anavitelli's doing? No, no, he couldn't be so silly. As serious as the girl may have been, she was no racist; nor was she crazy enough to send this through her section of government. A Judge Consul was not foolish enough to jeopardize their social standing in such a way. One isn't able to be to careful, though. Thus, he would make the call. She was probably somewhere in the palace. Bringing up his hand to his desk, a button was pressed; bringing out a flowing circle of magic. Sound amplification was enough to allow them to hear. "Anavitelli, report to my office immediately."Those who heard his voice would know that he wasn't feeling it. Rare were the days that Gaustian was ever angered; today happened to be one of those days.

Grand Palace "What matters is the people, Gaustion, not what you think is best suited for the rich." Sitting in the room with the Consul, debating, arguing. One of the longest sessions with the consul in the few months has just ended. "I need some lunch," Anavitelli said to herself, "Maybe I'll have a grilled chicken sandwhich." I began to walk out of the debate room, thinking to myself of the issues going on in our fair nation. The kitchen was always busy, always. There wasn't a time of day when they weren't giving out food or someone was eating. This can be a very taxing job, good thing I try my best to stay in shape. "Hello, welcome to the grand palace grill!" said the order taker. "Hi, I'll have a grilled chicken sandwhich and some chips." I said to him. "Coming up Ms. Bisclowe" he said to me. What happened next, made me furious, "Anavitelli, report to my office immediately." echoed through-out the palace. "Now, why is he calling me? What now?" I said to myself but others could hear. "Hold off on my order sir." I said as I walked out to Gaustions' office.

Gaustian Edge (NPC) The man laid his head in his hands as he waited for his advisor to enter the room. He stared down at the documents, critical anger evident in his expression. The bills sitting on his desk... they were just unbelievable. Unthinkable that someone would send him this. "Deny the Centarus people-" he couldn't even finish the first portion of the bill. Looking to the next stack, he narrowed his eyes. "Allow for a revoking of Linzin militaristic rights, under section three code of law..." he stopped right then and there. Saying them out loud only made the hand situated on his desk ball tightly. He would've hoped that this affront on his eyes was in jest. At least then he could punish them for having such a sick sense of humor. But, in his mind; he knew this was no joke. No one would send him these types of proposals under pretense of being funny. Because, racism in any sense was not something to joke about; no matter anyone's views on the issue. "This is going to take more than a simple glass of Ale to drown out." Somehow, Anavitelli was going to blame him for all this. He just knew it. Sure, he had the utmost respect for the woman; but sometimes, her attitude was difficult to deal with. Despite her insolence, however, she was an incredibly good person to confide in; whose knowledge of public opinion and social equality was damn near unmatched. He could give that to his diminutive right-hand. She would be under scrutiny today, but in his heart he knew she was innocent. She would simply brush it off and help him figure this out. Whenever she decided to show up, that is.

Grand Palace Office Hall "What ever the issue, you can be damn sure I'll resolve it." What ever could be the matter with Gaustion? Usually, or on most days, Gaustion never sounded so angry. Even though he hadn't shouted my name in the microphone, I, and everyone else could tell that he didn't sound happy. I neared his office, the elevator doors had opened. I stepped out and greeting the woman at the desk. "Good morning miss." I said to her, "Oh, Good Morning Ms. Bisclowe!" she said back with such enthusiasm. That's the kind of people I like, ones that enjoy the job that they do, and treat others with respect. The sounds of my heels hitting the floor as I walked and switched on down to Gaustions' office. I thought to myself as I approached. The only thing that he could ever hope to talk to me about, would be a bill. Or bills, depending on what had gotten done, while I was away. This is exactly why I never leave anyone else to run the Consul while I'm away, they always make the most bone-headed and most idiotic decisions ever. I have arrived at his door, which was taller and wider than I think he needs, but he is the emperor. I opened the door fully and stood before him, "You called for me Gaustion?" I said with a nice tone. Let's see how things pan out.

Gaustian Edge (NPC) The male stared at his assistant as she came through the door. Hopefully he could salvage the the core of the issue without sparking any unnecessary animosities. It would've been easy to just dance around the subject, get something out of her while not alerting her of anything amiss. Then again, the smart thing to do was to bring it up. "Ms. Bisclowe," he used her last name. He'd only done that when there was a problem, most often politically. "I've come into contact with a bill that I wish for you to review." He motioned for her to approach his large desk, holding up the document to her.

Grand Palace - Gaustions' Office "Injustice is part of our daily lives, but it is the act of good people, to eradicate it." I'm not sure who could have done this. I stood at the door way, looking at Gaustion as he looked to me. He did seem to be in a bad mood, or maybe he was just troubled. He spoke to me, "Ms. Bisclowe," he indeed did use my last name. This only happened when something was wrong or we were in a meeting and it was being broadcasted to the public. He spoke again, "I've come into contact with a bill that I wish for you to review." He held the bill up for me to see. I approached his desk. "What is this bill about?" I said as I grabbed it from his hand. "This is unreal, this is, who gave you this?!" I was in such shock at what I was reading before me.

Gaustian Edge (NPC) Gaustion could understand her anger. Upon the document was an affront to even his own eyes. A terrible display of horrible thought processes by collective individuals. "I know. This surprises even me," the monarch's eyes were transfixed on the document in her hands. The bill was a set of laws, created with a racist intent. Its law set proposed many things, such as the induction of Centaren labor, denying the rights of freed Linzin slaves the ability to serve in the military, destruction of any artifacts associated with slave trading, and even going as far as to suggest that the Centarus people would rise up against the Empire. It was sickening. He looked to his assistant with an intense stare. "Now, Anavitelli," he began. He paused for a moment, before continuing. "This bill's origin is traced toward one of the law meetings. Instead of delegating with the law makers, they sent it to me." He folded his hands. "The fact that it's even in my lap, today, tells me that there was a backing from the people in the legislature. While not always the case, backing from the Judge Consul sends the files directly toward the Emperor for approval," he picked up a pen. "Obviously, I will not be supporting this bill, and will fight for the legislature to change it." He then put the pen down, steeling himself. Time to lay down the bomb. "What I want to know, though, is if the passing of this bill is your doing..."

Grand Palace - Gaustions' Office "You dare think of me for something this crude?" How dare you think of me? I kept staring at the bill in my hands as Gaustion explained what this was about. It shocked him, it better had, being racist is not something we tolerate here. The linzin are a proud people, they deserve everything that we've given to them since they were freed, what happened to them, should never have happened. "Now, Anavitelli," Gaustion said to me. "This bill's origin is traced toward one of the law meetings. Instead of delegating with the law makers, they sent it to me." he folded his hands and continued, "The fact that it's even in my lap, today, tells me that there was a backing from the people in the legislature. While not always the case, backing from the Judge Consul sends the files directly toward the Emperor for approval,". He explained to me how he wouldn't sign this bill, who would, this bill was ludacris. The next few words that he spoke to me, made me furious, "What I want to know, though, is if the passing of this bill is your doing...", I paused. I laughed. "You, you think this is my doing? After all the years I've been here and you knowing me, YOU think this is my doing?" I was beginning to get heated, my hair was a mess now. "First off, when was this bill passed to you?"

Gaustian Edge (NPC) Gaustian could only internally wince at her response, as expected as it was. Frankly, he would've been much more suspicious had she responded any less extremely. "I understand your anger. It is a valid assumption," he said. "The bill is incredibly defamatory, a downright mockery of what we in Spera stand for." He leaned back in his chair, gaze as penetrating as he could possibly make it. "Of course, this also falls on your head, seeing as you are the moderator and leader of the Body of Law; who happen to be the ones who passed this bill to me." The emperor continued. "Now, tell me; are you involved in this, Ms. Bisclowe? Or, has your Body suddenly decided to send a bill to me under your nose?" Another piercing question.

Grand Palace - Gaustions' Office "There's always someone trying to over throw the thrown."
How could this have happened? I was still in shock after ready this horrendous bill, who could've done this? "I understand your anger. It is a valid assumption," Gaustion said, "The bill is incredibly defamatory, a downright mockery of what we in Spera stand for." You better believe it was, Spera is a proud nation, this will not go by with just a slap on the wrist. Gaustion then decided to speak again, he should really learn to choose his words wisely, "Of course, this also falls on your head, seeing as you are the moderator and leader of the Body of Law; who happen to be the ones who passed this bill to me." How could he think me of doing something like this? "Now, tell me; are you involved in this, Ms. Bisclowe? Or, has your Body suddenly decided to send a bill to me under your nose?""Am I apart of this? Absolutely not Gaustion, I have not been here for a few days, as I was with my father, taking care of him." I said as I tossed the bill down onto his desk. "It's not a surprise to me that someone in my jurisdiction has done something like this, those people are nothing but racist. Everytime I'm not around they try to change things." I crossed my arms, "I'm the only reason that you don't have to deal with a headache every few days."

Gaustian Edge (NPC) As unfortunate as it was, her previous statement was absolutely correct. Anavitelli was the one thing that kept him from going over the edge in this job. While he was grilling her for all she was worth, anyone could tell that he truly trusted her. She was an honest woman - most often brutally. Besides, her own race was being persecuted. He knew nothing of her home life, only that her father was an Elenor who served in the military. He only knew as much as she would tell him. That was the basis of their relationship. Now, that bond would be tested yet again. He had answers, now was the time to begin planning. "Alright, Ana. I believe you," he said gently. "But, this must be tackled now. Racism is not something that can go unpunished. We will need to uncover who is responsible for the bill and punish them, accordingly. We will need to meet Selene, where we will discuss the issue." He nodded to the woman. "We leave in twenty minutes. Be ready," Gaustian said, standing to his feet. "Call for the Enryon to pick us up. We'll meet her aboard it." [END Gaustian]

Grand Palace - Gaustions' Office "On we walk, to our next know directive." Indeed, it is time to lay down the hammer of justice. "Alright, Ana. I believe you," Gaustion said gently, "But, this must be tackled now. Racism is not something that can go unpunished. We will need to uncover who is responsible for the bill and punish them, accordingly. We will need to meet Selene, where we will discuss the issue." It has been a while since I've seen Selene, we did get along very well. We were both of military background. "We leave in twenty minutes. Be ready," he stood up, "Call for the Eryon to pick us up. We'll meet her aboard it.""Indeed Gaustion, I will prepare everything for us." I said as began to walk away. "Hopefully, Selene isn't too busy." [END Anavitelli]

Thread Completion Name A Rousing Proposal
Type Regular
Time Period Period
Characters Anavitelli Bisclowe, Gaustian Edge (NPC)
Comments/Notes A great writing sequence between the two. The tension is rising. While I'm not able to judge myself, I can be impartial for Nyx and praise his skill. Anavitelli is a good Judge Consul.
