A century ago the High Kingdom of Cels was ravaged by two great wars that rewrote generations of tradition. First the great Clann War, a civil war that pitted the powerful families of the land in a struggle over blood, and feuds older than the Kingdom itself. Then came the invasion of the Aesir Northmen, and only then did the warring Clanns unite to turn back the invaders.
After years of war Cels lies in a stalemate, an armistice with the Aesir has created a beachhead for them to meddle in the politics of the Sidhe (or Faeries) and lay dark designs upon the High Kingdom itself! In the Aesir Homeland of Norland talk spreads of the fertile lands of the south and the plunder to be had! Will Cels elect a new ruler to the Throne to unite her people? Will greed consume the north? Or will the dark magics and ancient evils awakening across Altear consume them all.
